Members of the European Broadcasting Union responsible for the annual Eurovision Song Contest voted no on a vote which could have led to the exclusion of Israel. Broadcasters from Ireland, Spain, Slovenia and the Netherlands confirmed they will stay away from next year’s televized contest in protest against Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip. Ireland’s RTÉ and Slovenia’s RTV issued similar statements about the ongoing humanitarian crises in Gaza.
